  1. Hey there! I really like your blog!! My name is Kelley, and I am from San Diego CA. I have BIG roots from Louisiana and am a proud Cajun! My parents moved to San Diego while my Dad was stationed here serving in the Marine Corps. A few years later, I came along! Going back to LA never seemed to happen the way they had originally planned, a new way of life had taken and I guess it really grew on the them. I am now 33 years old, married with 2 kiddo’s of my own. I have been borderline obsessed with Louisiana for over 10 years now – Just reading about the culture, the history, the family genealogies – it all just moves me more than I can really explain. It’s as if I can feel the connection that I have to it deep in my bones. Out here in San Diego, my last name is not at all common the way it is in LA and TX. In fact, these San Diego folk all seem to have a real time spelling and pronouncing my last name, “Broussard”. (One of your surnames!) I learned a few years ago, after a massively extensive ancestral research that my Uncle had taken on, that I am a 7th generation descendent of Joseph Broussard dit Beausoleil!! I am so ridiculously proud of this fact that I can barely even stand it!! I would love to hear more about you – and your family lineage! Wouldn’t that be crazy if we are somehow connected? :)
    Kelley Broussard

  2. Howdy! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are
you using for this site? I’m getting sick and tired of WordPress because I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform.
I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

  3. Annette Rodrigue Corkern says:

I am so enjoying reading up on relatives.

My mother is Mildred Courrege Rodrigue – daughter of Lucien & Theresa Drouet Courrege.
My father, Raymond Philip Rodrigue – son of Philip & Irma Pesson Rodrigue

  4. I was searching for information on my 10xGreat-grandfather, Andrew Messenger, b1588 in England and your site came up as one with some details. His info is very slim and yet YOU have his father and Grandfather listed!! I’m curious about where you got that info!
I have been given a copy of Anne Farrell (Higgins) Wood’s research from 1964. My father, mother & I have been searching for my documentation on Andrew Messenger’s lineage. A distant relative that still lives on the Messenger home in Connecticut, gave my mother info that goes back to about 1090AD, when the Messenger/Massinger/Messinger’s came from France and invaded England. Earlier name spellings are possibly Saxon – Mescinge/Metsinger/Messinges/Messanges/Massinge and French – Messager.
My paternal ancestors (all last names are Messenger, female I’m listing her maiden name) are: GGrandfather – Elmer Truman b1880 & Ida Ma(y)e Cook, Henry Newton b1838 & Louisa Frances Palmer, Riverius b1802 & Hannah Filley, Reuben b1778 & Hannah Payne, Reuben b1752 & Eunice Lois Bunch, Isaac b1717 & Hannah Alford, Joseph b1687 & Catherine Holcomb. Nathaniel b1651 & Rebecca Kelsey, Edward b1617 & Unknown (looking for records for her), Andrew & Sarah (Unknown).
If you have resources that you used and are willing to share with me where & how you got the information, could point me in the right direction to get that same documentation on Edward’s wife, Andrew’s wife and parents and so on? I am really interested in expanding the work that Mrs Wood started many years ago. That would be greatly appreciated, THANK YOU!

    Possibly a cousin,
    Joni (Messenger) Jundt
